The state has made a change with respect to the high honors tuition waiver qualification process. The 2007/2008 school year will be the last year that seniors can retest for tuition waiver. Beginning with students’ graduation in 2009, only a student’s sophomore and junior year will be considered with determining eligibility for waiver.
Testing 2007-2008
SPRING TESTING FOR AIMS AND TERRANOVA
All sophomores will test for the first time in AIMS Writing, Reading, and Mathematics. Students currently enrolled in Biology will take AIMS Science. In addition, juniors and seniors who have not met the standard in any previous area will retest. Juniors and seniors are not required to test in science and therefore will not take this test. Juniors and seniors retesting in attempt to obtain an exceeds score will test during these times as well. Freshmen will take the Terra Nova test on April 8th in conjunction with AIMS Math.
In an effort to support and set your student up for success, we encourage you to ensure that they are well rested, have a nutritious breakfast and arrive at school on time to begin testing. Students who are absent on the day of a test must take a make up test at a later date. Late students will not be allowed to test!
