Mission, Philosophy, and Objectives
MISSION
Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for quality, comprehensive education in which all students may reach their full potential as responsible, ethical, and productive members of society.
PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of Prescott High School reflects the diverse values of the Prescott community, significant among them being our democratic ideals and respect for the work ethic.
As we value the inherent and worth and dignity of each individual, we believe each person has a right to an educational experience focused on individual strengths, interests, needs, and aspirations. We are committed to furthering the intellectual, physical, emotional, social, ethical, and aesthetic growth of all students. We endeavor to provide educational opportunities as varied as the students who come to us and as evolving as the world they inhabit and will inherit.
We recognize that in today's complex and challenging society, our students must be capable of developing and applying creative and resourceful solutions to present and future problems. At the same time, we also recognize that our students need to develop an appreciation for all aspects of the world around them.
With an emphasis on the education of the whole person, we endeavor to work together in a facilitative and supportive environment to render students analytic, empathetic, aware, and inquisitive: analytic in the assessment of the world around them and their responses to it; empathetic to the needs of each member of the human family; aware of the global influences on their lives and our community; and inquisitive, fueling their innate enthusiasm for learning.
Together, we are dedicated to providing our youth, who will assume future stewardship of the community and the nation, with quality materials, methods, and programs, thus enabling them to become responsible, productive, concerned, and involved citizens.
