Mission Statement
Every student shall be provided the opportunity to develop his/her full academic potential. We are committed to providing students with opportunities to engage in formulating and solving a wide range of problems using a variety of teaching methods, including technological resources. We recognize that all students can learn to think mathematically and need to be provided with experiences that challenge their thinking. It is the goal of the math department to prepare students to function successfully in a technological world an to enter adult life as responsible and caring individuals.

The Math Department recommends students take at least one year of an Algebra course and at least one year of a Geometry course. See specific classes for details regarding calculators. No class allows a calculator that does numeric manipulation or has a keyboard type calculator such as TI92. Also, cell phone calculators are not allowed.

Math Department Level Change Policy
A parent, student, or teacher may initiate a request for a math level change. This should be done as soon as possible. Decisions will be made on course history, past records, test scores, homework, and in class performance.
