Students must provide their own camera, film, photography paper, and matting supplies. Costs may vary from a minimum of $75 to over $150 (the costs are spread over the semester).
The course is project-based for the highly motivated and independent student. Students will shoot weekly assignments, which continue throughout the course to allow students to compare their work on a given subject with others and to mature and grow in their photographic skills. Experimental processes such as reticulation, solarization, sepia toning, and hand coloring will be covered. This is a studio-darkroom oriented class with emphasis on darkroom printing and experimental techniques.
