| This course is designed for students that did not pass the State AIMS test. The class will help students master basic skills in reading, writing, vocabulary, and editing. This course features a variety of fiction, non-fiction, drama, and poetry. Students will do book analysis, literature studies, narratives, and journal writing. Organization skills and study skills will also be a priority. Reading assignments and journal writing will be required. Students will be expected to work in cooperative learning teams and do presentations in the class. A Life After High School unit will also be taught, preparing the students in writing formal communications, job interview, and job hunting etiquette to succeed beyond high school. Students will also study Shakespeare. | |
