| This course is designed to help students in reading and writing. Students will work on vocabulary, sentence structure, paragraph writing, and essays, and reinforcement of proper grammar will be stressed throughout the year. Organization skills and study skills will also be a priority. Weekly reading assignments and journal writing will be required. We will explore fiction, non-fiction, drama, and poetry. Students will do literature studies, write a short story, and perform a persuasive speech. Students will be expected to work in cooperative teams and make presentations to the class. | |
