E-mail Policy
Students are responsible for exercising good behavior and mature judgment when accessing Prescott High School's computer network. Students' use of the Internet must be in support of educational research and be consistent with the educational objectives of Prescott High School. At PHS, students are permitted to exchange e-mail communications for the sole purpose of enhancing academic achievement through the retrieval of information available on the Internet or received from legitimate research sources, including, but not limited to, on-line interviews with authors, scientists, or other professionals and must be approved and monitored by a certified PHS faculty member.
The use of e-mail via access at PHS for personal communication of a non-educational nature is strictly prohibited. Student participation in simultaneous dialogue exchange (chat rooms) is permissible if approved and monitored by a certified PHS faculty member. Transmission or reception of any material in violation of any U.S. or Arizona regulation is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, copyrighted material, threatening or obscene material, or material protected by trade secret. Use of e-mail for commercial activities is not acceptable. Use of e-mail for product advertisement or political lobbying is also prohibited.
