Classification: Elective 12 - Vocational Level II

One year - three credits
- Class limited to 24 students

Prerequisites: Career & Technical class sequence (CTE)

To enroll in Co-op, students must progress through a sequence of Career and Technical Education courses. This includes a Level II course ( Computer Applications, Intro. to Business semester I, Beginning Woods, Beginning Electronics, Intro to Foods, etc), and a Level III course (Intro to Business semester II, Advanced Woods, Advanced Electronics, etc). In order to successfully complete the required sequence, students should begin planning their schedules accordingly as early as their Freshman year.

After being interviewed and accepted into the program, students will be assisted in job placement with emphasis on development of skills and career exploration. Students will enroll in a daily Co-op class, as well as work in a job related to their sequence of CTE courses. Students will work approximately 15 hours per week. Because students receive three credits for their participation in this program, they usually have a shortened daily schedule that allows them to go to work in the afternoons if necessary.
