This course is for the competition orienteering/drill teams and teaches the cadets the principles of teamwork, neatness, and physical education. Orienteering emphasizes fitness and cross country land navigation and precision drill. Students will demonstrate a heightened sense of discipline and leadership and compete in AIA competitions throughout the state/nation. Students are required to attend co-curriculum-in-action field trips.

Freshman ASLA students must maintain courtesy, grooming, and professional standards but do not wear blue USAF uniforms for the first semester. Students dress out on Thursdays only, wearing an ASLA unit t-shirt/sweatshirt.

So/Jr/Sr is required to wear AFJROTC uniforms on Thursday. This class does not count towards an AFJROTC completion certificate.
